Oscar ratings stunk!

Filed under: — Ben Rast @ 10:46 pm

When the Academy Awards choose to pay homage to movies about adulterous gay sheepherders, a gay writer, and a transgendered person instead of quality movies that actually made a lot of money (The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe), ratings plummet. I’m not sad to report that Nielsen ratings found the 2006 Academy Awards show were down 8% from last year, and the second worst in nearly two decades. Waaaaaah!!!

Good for noticing. They’re not cowboys; they come in at a stratum far below that of cowboys. In Texas, they’re sometimes called “goat-ropers.”

But hey, at least Huffman didn’t win the “Best Actress” award. I was thinking she’d get it, because it’s so-o-o-o difficult for her to go without pretty make-up. (Grounds for the Theron win of 2004, or so they said.)

Hollywood is becoming or really has already become inconsequential.
