Obama: Maybe it’s time for mandatory voting

Filed under: — Jennifer Rast @ 7:25 am

Obama wants to make voting mandatory. What’s next will someone from the DNC fill out the ballot for us too. His excuse is that other countries do it and it would keep the billionaires from having too much influence. Is it easier to vote when you’re a billionaire or something? Voting has nothing to do with campaign contributions, just ask Hillary, she’s an expert on billionaires.

The president whose major policy achievement is mandatory health insurance thinks maybe voting should be mandatory, too.

Asked how to offset the influence of big money in politics, President Barack Obama suggested it’s time to make voting a requirement.

“Other countries have mandatory voting,” Obama said Wednesday in Cleveland, where he spoke about the importance of middle class economics, and was asked about the issue during a town hall.

“It would be transformative if everybody voted — that would counteract money more than anything,” he said, adding it was the first time he had shared the idea publicly.

The clout of millionaires and billionaires in campaign funding has been enormous, and many claim the uber wealthy have undue leverage in politics.

“The people who tend not to vote are young, they’re lower income, they’re skewed more heavily towards immigrant groups and minority groups,” Obama said. “There’s a reason why some folks try to keep them away from the polls.”

Voting is a right, not to be mandated. All this would do is get more uninformed, clueless people to vote. If you don’t give a crap about your country enough to vote, you don’t deserve to have a voice in the matter, and it’s not up to Obama to force them to care.

Report: ISIS Plans to Seize Libya, Flood Europe With Jihadists

Filed under: — Jennifer Rast @ 11:21 am

Europe is already flooded with Islamists, so this should be an easy feet. Remember back when we had a President that actually did stuff, and protected the homeland. We’re following the same path as Europe with our southern border wide open, so we can expect the same kind of attacks. It’ll just happen after Europe is toast. Is there anyone willing to fight this scourge until it’s no longer a threat to civilized society? We better hope we get the right President this time in 2016.

The ISIS terror group is planning to take over Libya and use it as a gateway to wage war across almost all of southern Europe, the London Telegraph reported.

A document written by an Islamic State (ISIS) operative in Libya says that the group plans to flood Libya with fighters from Iraq and Syria, and have them sail across the Mediterranean Sea pretending to be refugees on human trafficking vessels.

They would then target European cities and try to stage attacks on maritime shipping, according to the Quilliam Foundation, a British anti-radicalization group which said it had seen the document.

The report comes just days after ISIS released a video showing the mass beheading of 21 Egyptian Christian guest workers on a beach in Libya. The video, which led Egypt to stage retaliatory bombings of ISIS positions in Libya, also included footage of a jihadist pointing north toward Europe and declaring: “We will conquer Rome, by Allah’s permission.”

The writer of the document is an ISIS propagandist who uses the alias Abu Arhim al-Libim, who boasts that the terror group is awash in weapons captured in Libya’s 2011 civil war, when rebels seized mass quantities of armaments from longtime dictator Moammar Gadhafi’s military arsenal.

Some of the weaponry had been supplied to Gadhafi from Britain, which provided him with sniper rifles, machine guns, and ammunition.

Libim says northern Libya is less than 300 miles from some parts of the European mainland.

Support rising for use of ground troops

Filed under: — Jennifer Rast @ 9:47 am

Even a majority of Democrats now support ground troops in Syria and Iraq to destroy the Islamic State. Only 30 percent of the country doesn’t support ground troops. The difference between the American people and our President is that we’re not Muslim supporters and we’re smart enough to see that the threat from Isil is only going to grow. We’re also tired of seeing Christians marched off to their death along with other minorities and anyone who doesn’t agree with the brutal animals that make up the Islamic State. They’re exterminating Christians and anything Christian from the land they occupy. Some of the destruction has been of priceless artifacts from the 9th century BC. The only thing these animals understand is overwhelming force, and the only way to stop them is to kill every last one of them. We can’t do that from the air and Obama knows it. He doesn’t care, because he wants it to be the next presidents problem. He doesn’t have the guts or the brains to wage a successful war, and he knows that too. So just like in Nazi Germany America will stand idly by while people die and Isil grows to a world wide force and hits us here at home. If only Bibi Netenyahu could be our president.

Support for using ground troops in the battle against the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) is on the rise, according to a new survey.

A Quinnipiac University poll released Wednesday found that 62 percent of voters in the United States would support using combat troops in Iraq and Syria. Only 30 percent would oppose it, and overall support for deploying troops against ISIS was strong regardless of party, gender or age.

Seventy-three percent of Republicans surveyed would approve the use of ground troops, as would 53 percent of Democrats. The poll also found strong support for ground troops among Independents, with 60 percent saying they would back their deployment in the fight against ISIS.

The Quinnipiac poll shows a significant uptick in support for a combat mission. In late February, a Pew poll found that 47 percent would back boots on the ground. A separate CNN/ORC poll from the same month also concluded 47 percent supported the same outcome.

The poll’s findings come as Congress debates whether to authorize a request President Obama made on Feb. 11 for war powers against ISIS. His proposed authorization for use of military force (AUMF) would prohibit the use of “enduring offensive ground combat operations,” language aimed at soothing Democratic fears about a prolonged war in the Middle East.
