Over 100K New Jersey Residents to Lose Their Affordable Health Plans under Obamacare

Filed under: — Jennifer Rast @ 10:49 am

So much for being able to keep your health plan and your doctor if you like them. No wonder they didn’t want us to read the bill before they passed it. New Jersey is the topic of this article, but every state, business, and insured person will find themselves in the same boat eventually, if Obamacare isn’t stopped.

The latest casualty of Obamacare may be a low-cost New Jersey health-care policy. Though President Obama promised “if you like your health care plan, you’ll be able to keep your health care plan, period,” that will not be the case for approximately 106,000 New Jersey residents whose plans will disappear under the law.

Known as the “basic and essential,” or B&E, health-care plans, the policy costs as little as a couple hundred dollars per month and is the choice of 71 percent of New Jersey residents on the individual insurance market. It provides minimum coverage for things such as doctor’s visits and procedures that don’t involve a hospital stay. According to the Newark Star-Ledger, B&E policy holders will, under Obamacare, “be left with may be a choice among pricey, pricier and priciest” plans.

Islamist mob parades nuns in Cairo as prisoners of war after six hours looting church school

Filed under: — Jennifer Rast @ 10:25 am

The Muslim Brotherhood needs to be destroyed. Yet, we have a weak President who wants to play nice to both sides. He considers people who burn Christian churches and torture defenseless nuns allies. He’s on the side of Islamic jihadists and always has been.

A mob marched nuns through the battle-torn streets of Cairo ‘like prisoners of war’ in the latest outrage against Egypt’s Christian minority.

Sister Manal, principal of a Franciscan school in suburban Cairo, watched for six hours as a mob looted the building, knocked the cross off the gate and replaced it with a black banner resembling the flag of Al Qaeda.

The classrooms were then burned to the ground and the women taken away, attracting a crowd of abusive onlookers.

Police told Sister Manal that the nuns had been targeted by hardline Islamists, convinced that they had given Muslim children an inappropriate education.

‘We are nuns. We rely on God and the angels to protect us,’ she said. ‘At the end, they paraded us like prisoners of war and hurled abuse at us as they led us from one alley to another without telling us where they were taking us.’

Siblings Wardah and Bedour, two Christian women employed by the school, also found themselves having to fight their way through the mob while being groped, hit and insulted by the extremists.

Obama’s job approval falls to 41%

Filed under: — Jennifer Rast @ 12:19 pm

With Obamacare being rolled out, the IRS scandal, the Benghazi scandal, and the list goes on, I can’t believe 41% of people still support this President. His second term is an even worse nightmare than the first.

Israel says Iran upping enrichment despite Rowhani election

Filed under: — Jennifer Rast @ 3:11 am

The current Administration’s policy on Iranian nuclear weapons seems to be to say as little as possible about it, and count on the MSM to follow suit with little to no coverage of the crisis. Yes, it is a crisis. Especially for Israel, but the nuclear arms race that will likely ensue once Iran has nukes is just as dangerous for the rest of the world.

The recent election of an Iranian president who is less vocal and possibly less stark raving mad than the last President has made it even easier to ignore the problem. No one should think a more moderate President in Iran means anything, however. The President is just a puppet. It’s the Mullah’s who run the country, and they are forging full steam ahead on their nuke program.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Wednesday that Iran had expanded its sensitive enrichment of uranium despite the election as president of moderate cleric Hassan Rowhani.

“Iran has not stopped its nuclear programme, even after its presidential election” on June 14, Netanyahu said in comments broadcast by public radio.

“At the moment, they are using 7,000 new centrifuges, including 1,000 which are of a newer type,” he said on a visit to southern Israel.

“The Iranian president is trying to present a new image… but the nuclear programme’s progress continues.”

On Tuesday, Rowhani said Iran was ready to hold “serious” talks with the major powers without delay to allay Western concerns about its nuclear programme.

But he underlined that Iran would not abandon uranium enrichment, the sensitive activity at the heart of Western concerns which it suspended when Rowhani was chief nuclear negotiator a decade ago.

Iran said in March that it intends to install around 3,000 new-model centrifuges at a nuclear plant near the central town of Natanz enabling it to speed up the enrichment of uranium.

Around 13,500 older-model centrifuges are already in place at the plant.

Al Qaeda Flag Flies High Above Christian Churches

Filed under: — Jennifer Rast @ 2:06 am

Days ago, al-Qaeda’s Egyptian leader, Ayman Zawahiri, portrayed the overthrow of Muhammad Morsi and the Brotherhood as a “Crusader” campaign led by Coptic Pope Tawadros II who, according to Zawahiri and other terrorists, is trying to create a Coptic state in Egypt.

This statement by Zawahiri is laughable, if it weren’t so sad, considering the Arab Spring and the Muslim Brotherhoods admitted goal of reestablishing the Islamic Caliphate in the region. Just like the Democrats in the United States, the Jihadists use the tactic of accusing their enemies of exactly what they are doing themselves. No wonder Islamists and Progressives get along so well.

Since then, not only are Egypt’s Christians and churches now being attacked in ways unprecedented in the modern era, but new reports indicate that al-Qaeda’s black flag has been raised on some of them, specifically St. George Church in Sohag. Considering that it was al-Qaeda linked terrorists who initiated one of the bloodiest church attacks in recent history, the 2010 Baghdad church attack where nearly 60 Christians were slaughtered (click here for graphic images), that al-Qaeda is singling out Egypt’s Christians bodes ill.

The Islamic terrorist organization’s incitements against the Copts are just the latest to emanate from Islamists—from the top of the Brotherhood leadership to the bottom of the “Muslim street”—creating something of an “open season” on Egypt’s Christians.

We all need to be praying for our fellow Christians abroad, but we should also be writing our members of Congress, demanding that this genocide be recognized and something done about it. Murder does not become acceptable when Christians are on the receiving end of the violence.

Would Muslims tolerate the Christian flag flying over mosques in the U.S.? I seriously doubt it. Our government would also be beside itself, and wouldn’t hesitate to put a stop to it. The double standard is disgusting.

Human Rights Groups Criticize Islamists for Inciting New Violence Against Egypt’s Christians

Filed under: — Jennifer Rast @ 1:54 am

My question is, why is our government saying nothing about this slaughter of Christians in Egypt? If the roles were reversed, and Muslims were being crucified in the streets, we’d send in the troops and save the Islamist murderers. Perhaps it has something to do with having an Islamist sympathizer in the White House.

Alarmed at the fresh targeting of Egyptian Christians since the military takeover, 16 human rights groups on Wednesday condemned both sides in the continuing standoff—Islamists for inciting violence against the religious minority and the state for not providing adequate protection. …

As Egyptian Muslims prepared to mark the end-of-Ramadan Eid holiday on Thursday, their Orthodox Coptic compatriots have little to celebrate.

Attacks against Christians have increased over the past month, with churches, homes and stores targeted, a Coptic priest shot dead, and several other Christians killed—including a shopkeeper in the Sinai who was kidnapped and beheaded.

Last weekend in a village called Bani Ahmed, Islamists reportedly torched at least nine homes and 24 stores owned by Christians as well as vehicles. Coptic youths demonstrated outside the Supreme Court on Monday, calling for authorities to act against the perpetrators of the sectarian violence. …
