Christian Student Receives 5-day Suspension for Witnessing

Filed under: — Ben Rast @ 12:46 pm

Eric Bast is an 18-year-old who is not ashamed of the gospel! Eric Bast should be an example to us all. Eric Bast shared his faith with the three thousand students at his high school, and Eric Bast was suspended for five days.

Bast drafted a letter explaining how a person can have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He then enlisted volunteers to help him distribute this letter to three thousand students during home room. The school ruled that Bast did not receive authorization to distribute his letters, and consequently “disrupted” the learning process. They therefore suspended him for five days.

Was it worth it? Bast reports that several students have approached him and told him the letter has really made them evaluate their spiritual convictions. This young man exhibited a fearless conviction of the gospel that is all too rare. His school, which punished him for engaging in the free exercise of his religious beliefs, should be ashamed!

Australian Pastors Found Guilty of Inciting Hate Against Muslims

Filed under: — Ben Rast @ 12:36 pm

Under Victoria’s new race and religious vilification “hate” laws, a state tribunal in Australia yesterday found two evangelical Christian pastors who conducted a church seminar on Islam guilty of inciting hatred against Muslims.

The pastors, Daniel Nalliah and Daniel Scot of Catch the Fire Ministries, conducted a seminar on Islam, quoting the Qur’an to show that Islam teaches violence among other things. An article on their website was also found to be violative of this new law.

It used to be hard to fathom of something like this happening here in the U.S., but not anymore. What has happened in Australia is sure to spread, and ministries like this will be prosecuted for “hate” by exposing the doctrines and beliefs of false religions. Our thoughts and prayers go out to these pastors.
